CEREC SERVICES

Bingham Dental clinic makes extensive use of Cerec technologies, placing us at the cutting-edge of modern dentistry.

Cerec technology by Sirona Dental Systems UK represents the latest advancement in digital impressioning and makes it possible for patients to have a dental restoration - such as a crown or veneer - designed, made and fitted during a single visit, eliminating the need for temporary crowns and multiple appointments.

Cerec’s porcelain and composite restorations are made by utilising a new technology called CAD-CAM (Computerised Assisted Design - Computerized Assisted Milled). Instead of using ‘dental putty’ to take an impression of your tooth, a digital image is taken using a special camera. This is more comfortable for the patient than traditional impressions. The image is then converted into a 3D computerised model of your tooth, which is used as a guide to design your new restoration. Cerec offers the most precise and fastest digital impressions, ensuring sustained quality at all times.

Once our skilled dentist is happy with the newly designed tooth, he sends the data to an onsite milling machine, which fabricates your new tooth from a high-quality ceramic or composite block. The milling process can take anywhere from as little as six minutes to 30 minutes depending on the exact technology and complexity of the tooth.

The ceramic blocks come in a wide variety of shades and colours, and your new tooth will be selected to match your surrounding teeth. Our dentist may also characterise or stain the restoration to make its appearance more natural, before either polishing it or glazing it in a furnace. Your new restoration will then be cemented into place onto your prepared tooth.

Cerec dental restorations are hard-wearing, long lasting and offer a level of convenience that is unparalleled.
